今年才開始種的節瓜長超好。

我超愛吃節瓜花天婦羅,只要菜單上有,我一定會點。

自己種的節瓜開花,我當然要做這道菜。


 

The courgettes, which we started growing this year, are doing very well.

I love courgette flower tempura, I always order it if I see it on a menu.

Of course, I have to make this dish out of my own courgette flowers.

節瓜花有雌雄之分,雌的節瓜花會連著小節瓜,很可愛。

在採收時不能一次採完,要留下同等數量的雌雄花,這樣才會繼續長。

今天包在花裡的餡,是Jamie Oliver的食譜。

餡裡有Ricotta起士、Parmesan起士、肉豆蔻、檸檬皮、辣椒、薄荷、胡椒跟鹽。

外面的麵衣,我用低筋麵粉加啤酒。

冰箱裡來有些冷凍蝦仁,也一起來炸一炸。


Courgettes have two types of flowers, female and male.

The female one has a mini courgette attached, it looks very cute.

Don't cut all flowers at the same time, you need to leave a few female flowers and a few male ones too, otherwise they will stop producing.

The filling I used today was from Jamie Oliver's recipe: ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, nutmeg, lemon zest. chili, mint, salt and pepper.

For the batter I mixed self raising flour and beer.

We had some raw prawns in the freezer, which I decided to fry as well.
